Our Story
BL King Consulting officially opened in 2014, but our roots trace back to when our owner joined the Navy as a security officer over 20 years ago. During his service, he developed many of the skills he uses at BL King Consulting today, including an advanced understanding of cybersecurity and regulatory compliance. Additionally, as a veteran, our owner brings a unique energy to the IT space and emphasizes teamwork, discipline, integrity, and work ethic.
Since 2014, we have become a certified service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) and provided cybersecurity problem-solving for commercial clients and U.S. government contractors. Additionally, our team has served as a cybersecurity consultant for several high-profile government clients, including the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Commerce, and Department of Veteran Affairs.
BL King is known throughout New England for our straightforward approach to IT. Our team members are some of the most knowledgeable security experts in the business, which means you never have to wait for us to find the right solution. Bobby King – President, Inventor of CMMC in a Box
I’m the founder of BL King Consulting, and I’m on a mission to help 1,000 small businesses achieve CMMC compliance so they can establish and continue to grow their business within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).
I’ve always been driven to achieve greatness.
- After a tour as a Submariner in the Navy….
- And a decade supporting USAF Acquisitions while navigating through regulations to find, develop, and deliver secure systems…
…I realized the best way I could achieve greatness was to deepen my commitment to my two greatest passions: Our outstanding, brave veterans and the fearless entrepreneurs that fuel our great economy.
As a lifelong entrepreneur, I know CMMC is the last thing you need to focus on. I also know that compliance shouldn’t be complicated. It shouldn’t come with an $80,000 invoice to start and another one every third year. It shouldn’t take up all your time. You know you are fairly secure anyway, and you shouldn’t be terrified you’re going to fail your audit and have to pay to get re-audited or worse.
CMMC compliance should be as easy as getting a checkup on your vehicle. I don’t cave to the “status quo” of compliance solutions that take years, cost $ hundreds of thousands, and feel more complicated than differential calculus.
